30 Minutes That Destroyed Our Business
Share
A Normal Day That Turned Into a Disaster
It started like any other business day at Gul Plaza.
No warning. No signal.
By the time we realized what was happening… it was already too late.
Trapped Above the Fire
We were on the mezzanine floor — Suhaib and Owais from Hudhud Traders.
The fire started on the ground floor.
Within minutes, thick black smoke filled the building. Visibility dropped to zero. Breathing became difficult.
Then came the blackout.
No lights. No exit in sight. Just noise and chaos.
We were stuck there for almost 30 minutes.
People were screaming. Not panic — fear.
We saw people struggling just to breathe.
That moment stays with you forever.
The Escape
We didn’t have a perfect plan.
We moved toward the back side — near the washroom area — and found the back stairs.
That’s what saved us.
No hero moment.
Just survival.
We got out.
What the Fire Took From Us
Our shop was completely destroyed.
Everything inside — gone.
Years of work erased in minutes.
Inventory destroyed
Client orders affected
Payments stuck
Business stopped overnight
Our godown survived.
That’s the only reason we’re still here.
The Hardest Part Was After
Surviving the fire was one thing.
Surviving after it was harder.
For weeks:
No stable income
No system
No direction
There’s always a gap after disaster.
Where you’re alive — but your business isn’t.
The Support That Changed Everything
Opportunities didn’t come from the market.
They came from people.
We were given stall opportunities:
Nixor College
Mashion Bazaar Basant
Port Grand (Happy Home School)
Ribbat Campus (NIRA Official)
Radisson Banquet (Hamdard Haat)
Small setups.
But they gave us momentum.
The Lesson Most Businesses Ignore
We didn’t just lose a shop.
We lost a weak business model.
Everything depended on one location.
When that failed — everything failed.
That’s not bad luck.
That’s bad design.
How We’re Building Differently
Now we focus on:
Online + offline selling
Multiple income channels
System-based business
We’re not rebuilding the same business.
We’re building a stronger one.
Final Thought
Those 30 minutes were dangerous.
But temporary.
The real test started after.
We’re still rebuilding.
But this time — we’re building something that survives.
Rebuild With Us
We didn’t quit.
We restarted.
